First Eucharist (You Are Loved)

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. Through First Holy Communion, children receive Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament for the first time and become more fully united with Him and the Church community.

St. Jean Baptiste Parish invites children in Grade 3 or older and their families to prepare for this sacred milestone through prayer, learning, and active participation in parish life

Program Information

  • Eligibility: Grade 3 and older students
  • Session Dates: April 4 to June 6, 2027
  • Class Time: Sundays from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • No Classes: May 9 and May 23, 2027
  • Location: St. Jean Baptiste Church
  • Program Leader: Clayton Bouvier
  • A one-time registration fee of $60 per child includes all sacramental preparation resources and materials.
  • June 2027-Reconciliation
  • June 2027 – First Holy Communion mass

Program Includes

  • 8 student sessions
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation preparation and celebration
  • First Holy Communion Mass
  • 3 parent sessions using the Presence program
  • Student activity book

Parent Involvement

Parents are invited to walk alongside their child throughout the preparation process by attending sessions and participating in three dedicated parent formation sessions. These sessions help families deepen their understanding of the Eucharist and its importance in Catholic life. Parents are expected to attend the sessions with their child and participate in the 3. Parent sessions that will coincide with children sessions 2, 3 and 4.

More information will be provided at the Parent Meeting on Thursday, September 10 at
7:00pm at St Jean Baptiste Church. Please note that this will be the only registration session and will include registration for
Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.
